THE BLANK PAGE

No Fixed Itinerary. No Compromise.

Our fixed departures are built for people who want to step into a proven, fully planned expedition. Custom trips are for everyone else. The group that wants to run a specific river on a specific weekend. The leadership team that needs three days of real challenge, not a trust fall. The milestone birthday that deserves something better than a packaged tour.

We've been running these rivers for years. We know what's possible - and what isn't. Come to us with what you want, and we'll tell you honestly what we can build.

"Some of the best trips we've ever run started with someone saying 'I want to do something different for my team.' The river took care of the rest."

Corporate & Leadership Retreats

A day of Class IV rapids has a way of flattening hierarchy and revealing who people really are. Multi-day expeditions build the kind of trust that team-building exercises try to simulate and rarely achieve.

Private Group Expeditions

Friends, families, the group that's been talking about this trip for years. Exclusive access to one of BC's most spectacular river corridors, with guides who know every rapid by name.

Milestone Adventures

Fortieth birthdays, retirements, once-in-a-decade gatherings. We'll design something that matches the moment - from a single-day adrenaline hit to a full week in the backcountry.

First-Timers Welcome

You don't need experience. You need willingness. Our guides have introduced hundreds of people to whitewater - there's no prerequisite beyond showing up ready to try.

THE RIVERS

Where We'll Take You

  • Six days on the Bell-Irving and Nass rivers, deep in Northern BC wilderness. Class III–IV rapids, ancient canyon walls, wide open beach camps, and the Keopecte Crux and Moose Carcass Canyon waiting at the end. This is our flagship run - the trip people describe years later.

Available for private groups outside our fixed-departure schedule, subject to availability and minimum group size. Best suited to groups with some outdoor experience, though we can work with first-timers with the right lead time and preparation.

  • Six days through the Sacred Headwaters. Grizzly bears fishing in the same rapid you're running. The abandoned village of Kisgegas reclaimed by wildflowers. Two rivers, two completely different characters. The highest concentration of grizzlies in the province, visible from the raft.

One of the most wildlife-rich river corridors anywhere in North America. Exceptional for groups where wilderness immersion and wildlife are part of the goal - whether that's a corporate retreat that wants something genuinely different, or a private group that has always wanted to see grizzly bears from a raft.

  • We know Northern BC's river systems well beyond our fixed routes. If you have a specific river, a specific challenge, or a trip in mind that doesn't fit a standard itinerary, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can make it work - and if we can't, we'll tell you that too.

Custom routes, multi-river expeditions, and day programs for groups who need something shorter are all possible depending on season and logistics. The enquiry form is the place to start.

HOW IT WORKS

From First Message to First Rapid

01

Send Your Enquiry

Fill in the form below with the basics - who's coming, what you're after, when you're thinking. Don't overthink it. Even a rough sketch of what you want is enough to start.

02

We Talk It Through

One of our guides will reach out within 48 hours. We'll figure out the right river, the right length, and what the trip needs to look like to deliver what you're after. No sales process - just an honest conversation about what's possible.

03

We Build the Itinerary

Once we're aligned on the shape of the trip, we put together a full itinerary and quote. You review it, we adjust anything that needs adjusting, and you lock it in with a deposit.

04

We Handle Everything Else

Transport, equipment, meals, camping, emergency protocols. In the weeks before departure we'll send a comprehensive pre-trip pack. On the day, you show up in Terrace. We take it from there.

LET'S BUILD SOMETHING

Tell Us What You're After

There's no wrong answer here. Tell us what you've got in mind - even in rough terms - and we'll come back to you within 48 hours with what we think is possible.

!!   A few things need fixing before you hit the water.

We'll respond within 48 hours. Your enquiry goes directly to the guides - not an inbox that nobody reads.

ENQUIRY RECEIVED

We'll be in touch within 48 hours.

Your enquiry has gone directly to our guides. Not a ticketing system, not a shared inbox - the people who will actually be on the river with you. Here's what happens next.

  • A guide will review your enquiry and reach out within 48 hours to talk through what's possible.

  • Check your inbox — a confirmation of your enquiry is on its way to the address you provided.

  • In the meantime, the Planning page has everything you need to know about gear, travel, and what to expect.

First Nations Land Acknowledgement

West Coast Whitewater acknowledges that our operations on the Nass River take place on the traditional, unceded territory of the Nisga'a Nation and adjacent to the Lake Babine, Gitanyow, and Gitanmaax Nations. We recognize the deep cultural, spiritual, and historical connection the local indigenous people have to these lands and waters, and we are committed to operating in a way that respects their sovereignty, values, and stewardship. We are grateful for the opportunity to travel through these territories and strive to uphold practices that honour their ongoing guardianship of the Nass and Skeena Valleys.
