No. Many of our guests have never rafted before. We ask that you can follow instructions, are willing to paddle, and are comfortable in and around water. Before we launch, we give everyone a full safety briefing.

You don't need to be an athlete, but a reasonable level of fitness helps. On Class III–IV trips you'll be paddling hard at times and need to be able to swim in moving water. If you have health concerns, get in touch and we'll help you figure out which trip suits you.

Falling out of the raft, which rafters call "swimming," is a normal part of whitewater rafting. Our guides are Swift Water Rescue certified and trained to get swimmers back in the boat quickly and safely. We practice this in calm water before every trip.

Nass trips meet in Terrace and Babine trips meet in Smithers, the day before launch. For our other trips, we'll confirm the meeting point when you book, and it will also be in your pre-trip info pack. The evening before gives you time to settle in, have dinner, and meet the rest of the group. On launch morning we gather around 9 AM, hand out gear, go through the safety briefing, and drive to the put-in. If you're flying from farther away, you can connect to Terrace or Smithers through Vancouver, Kamloops, or Prince George. Your 15% deposit is non-refundable, since we use it to secure permits, staff, and equipment as soon as you book. Anything you've paid beyond the deposit is fully refundable if you cancel more than 60 days before your launch date. If you cancel within 60 days of your launch date, payments are non-refundable, because by then we've booked guides, ordered food, and prepared gear for your trip. If something comes up, please still get in touch. We'll do what we reasonably can, such as moving you to a later departure. If we have to cancel a trip because it doesn't reach our minimum group size, you can choose a full refund or a transfer to another date. Yes. Let us know about any dietary needs in your booking request and we'll plan the camp meals around them. With advance notice, we can cater to vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and allergy-based diets.
