Payment, Refund & Cancellation Policy
Payment
We ask for a 15% deposit to lock in your spot - this part is non-refundable, since it covers the real costs we take on early: permits, staffing, and getting equipment ready for your trip. The remaining 85% isn't due until 60 days before departure, so you've got plenty of room to plan.
If you're booking within 60 days of departure, we'll ask for full payment up front since there's no time left for a payment plan.
Refund & Cancellation Policy
We get it - life happens. If you need to cancel, here's how it works: your deposit stays non-refundable (it's already gone toward securing your trip), but anything you've paid beyond that is fully refundable as long as you cancel more than 60 days out.
Inside 60 days, things get trickier on our end too - we've already committed to guides, gear, and food for your group, so payments made at that point are non-refundable. That said, if something comes up, talk to us. We're not going to pretend every situation is the same, and we'll always do what we reasonably can to help you out, whether that's transferring you to a future trip or finding another solution.
MINIMUM NUMBERS
Our scheduled Nass and Babine trips need at least 6 people to run. If a trip doesn't reach that number, it won't go ahead - and if that happens, you'll get a full refund or the option to move to another departure.
One important thing: please hold off booking flights until we've confirmed your trip is a go. We can't cover flight costs if a trip doesn't reach minimum numbers, so a little patience here saves a headache later.
IF WE HAVE TO MAKE CHANGES
Rivers don't always cooperate. High water, wildfire, wildlife, a medical situation, or something else outside our control might mean we need to adjust your itinerary, or in rare cases, cancel the trip entirely. If we cancel on our end, you'll get a full refund or a spot on a future trip - your choice.
If unexpected costs come up because of something outside our control, we'll split them evenly across the group rather than anyone carrying it alone.
First Nations Land Acknowledgement
West Coast Whitewater acknowledges that our operations on the Nass River take place on the traditional, unceded territory of the Nisga'a and Gitanyow Nations, and adjacent to the Lake Babine and Gitanmaax Nations. We recognize the deep cultural, spiritual, and historical connection the local indigenous people have to these lands and waters, and we are committed to operating in a way that respects their sovereignty, values, and stewardship. We are grateful for the opportunity to travel through these territories and strive to uphold practices that honour their ongoing guardianship of the Nass and Skeena Valleys.
