The Crux and the Canyon.
Run the Keopecte Crux and Moose Carcass Canyon, the kind of rapids that become the stories you tell for years.
02
Beaches at the Edge of Everywhere.
Camp on wide-open sandbars under Northern BC skies, five nights deep in country few people ever see.
03
A River's Living Story.
Learn the cultural significance of the Meziadin Fish Camp from members of the Gitanyow Nation.
04
Wildlife Around Every Bend.
Bears, eagles, salmon runs, and canyon walls older than memory.
The Heart of It
What Makes This Trip
The Nass is born in the Sacred Headwaters, the vast alpine basin where three of Northwest BC's great salmon rivers begin, and it carries that wildness all the way down. You'll start on the Bell-Irving River, where two days of narrowing canyons build toward the Keopecte Crux, a Class IV rapid at the river's tightest point. Then the Bell-Irving joins the Nass and the river turns wider, wilder, and relentless, with major rapids every day and huge beaches to camp on each night.
Along the way, members of the Gitanyow Nation share the cultural story of the Meziadin Fish Camp, and the week builds to Moose Carcass Canyon: ten kilometres of continuous Class IV. No experience is required, just a willingness to paddle hard and look up often.
